Fallout: New Vegas; ED-E Why Are You Being Like This!?

I was playing fallout, and i noticed that ED-E had gone? So i left it and thought he'll find me (like they do) and he never showed up, i then thought he has gone back to the lucky 38, which he has not.. i have checked. And then whilst playing a message popped up saying he has returned to his original location or something? so i was like woo! im getting ED-E back!? So i go there and he is hostile and is attacking me??? and no matter how many times i refresh it, or go back and forth.. he is still hostile? i immediately run out as soon as he attacks me because i dont wanna kill him? just incase theres a way to fix this? is there?
