Would you consider this to be immoral? Also is it against the law?

My boyfriend is 18, and i'm 16. We've been together for 4 months. We're both virgins, and we have both talked about making love together. We have brought up what we would do just incase something went wrong, protection, and all of that important stuff. We're both comfortable talking about it with eachother, and feel ready for it. Would you consider that immoral? and also in Michigan is that against the law? we're within 2 years of age...but i'm not sure if it's illegal or not because he's no longer a minor. Thanks!(:
